Ok, so it's been a while since the last blog - he's a quick recap of the fun things i've done in texas in the last month.
I am sitting by the pool right now as a write this on a typical Texas day - great weather, not a cloud in the sky!! See the photo, every weekend its like this, everyone takes down beers, music plays and it's an all day pool party!!!!
The Mazda has been going great, I try and have the top down as much as possible - really loving this car!!
Work - Really busy at Dickeys, Some highlights at Dickeys so far include writing a radio commerical - which is currently playing throughout the USA!! Also creating an Advert which is displayed on an Iphone Dallas Happy Hour App.
On Monday there be a new youtube video shoot and i'll be an extra in it!!
I Created an online advert which ran on one of the main dallas news sites - and was seen by over 2 million people - here is a screen shot!!
Right now I am currently arranging an advertising campaign the celebrate 70th anniverary of Dickeys - so along with the day to day tasks as media buyer im working on some pretty fun things - getting some great experience and enjoying the perks of working in media - just some of which I will talk about next!!
Nascar - Was invited to the NASCAR racing at the Texas Motor Speedway, in a suite and full vip access to the whole track, was great fun! there were some passionate NASCAR fans and some of loudest noise I have ever heard in my life (luckily the suite provided some releif from all the engine noise! but seriously, it was deafening!!
Kenny Chesney - My first visit to the cowboys stadium - home of the dallas cowboys to see some of the biggest people in country music- kenny chesney, billy currington, the zac brown band and uncle kracker, this was fun in a packed 80,000+ stadium. Wow!!
Texas Rangers -As a company we had a day out last week as our president - Roland Dickey Jr was invited to throw the first pitch at the texas rangers baseball game - we had great seats which involved free burgers, hot dogs and beer during the game (a great combination!!)
This weekend I have tickets to watch FC Dallas, playing LA Galaxy - so that should be cool seeing David Beckham do his thing here in Dallas. Apparently something has been prepared linked to his quick visit to the royal wedding to taunt a jet lagged david beckham!!!
And next weekend, I'm very excited to be going with Sarah to meet her family and friends in the state of Kentucky, this is where she studied and her family live so it will be great to visit with a local expert and meet the people she's told me so much about!! Its also the Kentucky Derby - so we're planning on making the race, known as one of the best races in the world!!!
So to recap the month - working hard, learning lots, and having some great weekends, making the most of what Dallas has to offer!!!
